Poetry Magazine

Varrio Voices celebrates the power of poetry as a form of storytelling, resistance, and community healing.

What began as our first annual anthology and contest has grown into a space to uplift poets whose words illuminate the experiences of our barrios, the struggles endured, and the beauty that thrives in our communities.

Why Poetry

Poetry is more than art, it is testimony. Through verse, our poets capture the resilience of immigrant families, the pride of cultural identity, and the power of collective imagination. By honoring these voices, we keep alive traditions of resistance and create new possibilities for future generations.
